Why Hale & Hearty

Most food apps keep score against you. This one is on your side. No food is bad. No streaks to protect, no numbers to beat. Just what you ate, how you felt, and a kind idea for what might help next.

How it works

From one sentence to the whole picture

  1. 01

    Describe it

Type what you ate in your own words, or snap a photo. Hale & Hearty splits it into foods and fills in the nutrients.

  2. 02

    Goals that know your condition

Tracking anaemia, PCOS, high blood pressure or one of 16 conditions? Hale & Hearty adds the nutrients that matter for it, turns some into limits to stay under, and tells you why.

  3. 03

    See it come together

Protein, carbs, fat and fibre side by side, the nutrients you’re watching, and the nourishing foods that made it in.

Add Food, Describe tab: a breakfast typed in plain words and split into separate foods. Iron goal, added for anaemia, with why this goal matters and the foods that helped. Nutrition for today: protein, carbs, fat and fibre drawn as four soft curves, one against each goal.

Nutrition Support Index

A day that only builds

Every nourishing thing you log moves it forward, and nothing you enjoy pulls it back.

  • Yogurt & berriesProtein
  • Dal with riceFibre & iron
  • Another glassWater
  • A handful of walnutsOmega 3

Try scrolling back up. Logging never pulls it down.

  • Home: the Nutrition Support Index at Supported, “Your day is supporting you well”, and the day’s check-in.

    Words, not a score

It reads protein, fibre, water and nourishing foods, and tells you where the day stands in plain language.

  • Recommended foods: lentils, black beans, eggs, salmon, pumpkin seeds and tofu, each with the gap it fills.

    Suggestions that move it forward

Recommended foods aim at whatever the day is still missing, so the next thing you eat does the most good.

    • FastingIntentional break from eating
    • Sick / Recovery DayTaking it easy, focusing on recovery
    • Travel / Irregular DayEating on the go or out of routine

With Apple Health

Wellness that sees the whole you

Food is one part of the picture. Your sleep, movement, water and cycle sit beside what you ate, so every suggestion fits the day you’re actually having.

Sleep

After a rough night

See how you slept, stage by stage, and get foods that help you through a short night’s day.

Sleep after a rough night: 5h 10m, below normal, drawn from bedtime to waking.
After a short night: protein and fibre at each meal to steady hunger, with foods like walnuts, blueberries and oats.

Movement

Movement, without pressure

Your activity from Apple Health, a Move goal that never turns red, and food that fits how active you’ve been.

Movement: today's active energy from Apple Health, against the Move goal.

Water

Water, glass by glass

A goal that only ever fills up. Log from your phone, a widget, Control Center or your wrist.

Water: 80% of the way to the day's goal.

Cycle

Your cycle is part of the story

Hale & Hearty follows your phase and your contraception, and suggests foods that suit them. Descriptive, never prescriptive.

Cycle: day 10, late follicular, with foods that suit the phase.
Cycle: choosing a contraception method, so guidance fits your body.

Symptoms & patterns

Notice how food makes you feel

Log symptoms in a tap. Over time, Hale & Hearty shows which foods tend to turn up alongside them.

Log Symptom: a wheel of symptom names.
Log how you feel. Pick a symptom and how strong it is.
Patterns worth watching: bloating and milk often appear together, with an offer to run a two-week test.
Patterns, never verdicts. Only an elimination test of your own makes the call.
Bloating over the last eight weeks, with every log listed.
See the trend. Eight weeks of each symptom, so a rough week stands apart from a pattern.

“Bloating and milk often appear together in your logs.”

Correlation, never causation. That’s how every pattern is worded.
